REspite Retreat Application

To apply, please fill out and send the following form. We respectfully ask that you fill it out using a desktop or laptop rather than on your phone as some of the sections require a lengthy reply. It is essential that both husband and wife provide information on the application. Occasionally we ask registrants to provide additional information after receiving their application.

You can submit the non-refundable $350 registration fee one of two ways. You can mail a check made out to Respite Retreat to: 1053 Stockett Drive, Nashville, TN 37221. Or, if you have a Venmo account, you may send the deposit to @RespiteRetreat. (Both of these payment forms eliminate the fees incurred by credit or paypal payment.)

Also, send as high resolution as possible snapshot of the two of you (a “selfie” with your two faces together taken in good lighting with no sunglasses or additional people is ideal) and a high resolution photo of your child. E-mail those photos to respiteregistrar@nancyguthrie.com.

Your place at the retreat is secured only after this application, the deposit, and both photos are received. At that point we will e-mail you a confirmation that will include additional information you’ll need, including hotel registration information.

GriefShare is a small group ministry held in around 10,000 churches around the country. The groups use a video series hosted by David and Nancy. We strongly encourage you to see if there is a Griefshare group that meets near you where you can be with other people week by week who are grieving as well as take in the wisdom presented on the videos. To find a group near you, go to www.griefshare.org.
Know that our friends who have kept couples in the past are really hoping you will choose this option. These would all be homes close to ours that would provide you with a king or queen bed, a private bath, and little expectation of interaction with your hosts. You are free to make arrangements to stay elsewhere in Nashville if that is your preference. However, we encourage you to stay in the Home2Suites or in one of our friends' homes for several reasons. First, Nashville traffic has become very difficult. The hotel and our friends' homes are very close to our house. We will be in sessions at our home until around 9:30 in the evenings and here for breakfast early in the mornings, so we would hate for you to spend a lot of time driving back and forth to a location too far away. Additionally, in an effort to be kind to our neighbors, we will ask you to double up driving to our home from the hotel so that there are fewer cars parked on the street, and being in the hotel or with our friends will help with that. If you'd like to see where our house is in the Nashville area, you can look up our address on Google Maps: 1053 Stockett Drive; Nashville, TN 37221. (At this point Google Maps pinpoints a vacant lot full of trees, but we promise there is a house there now.)
